RPM Front Bumper & Skid Plate for the Losi Baja Rey

When our engineers looked at the stock front bumper and skid plateon a Losi Baja Rey, they realized that the front skid plate was toostiff, preventing the bumper from absorbing impacts. Our solutioninvolved more than just a simple skid plate redesign. We moved theentire skid plate from between the chassis plate and differentialto below the aluminum chassis plate. This move solved a couple ofproblems. First, the aluminum chassis plate now has some seriousRPM skid protection where it had none before! Next, and more importantly,it allowed us the freedom to create a flex zone on the skid platethat would allow more movement of the bumper in impact situations,ultimately saving you from costly repairs.

The skid plate isn't the only place we looked to improvestrength and durability. We redesigned the bumper as well, strengtheningthe mount between the skid plate and bumper, yet also creating anotherflex zone that allows the bumper to compress under extreme impacts,yet return back to its original shape once the impact energy hasdissipated. This ability to compress also protects the more fragileareas of the truck such as the front differential and chassis platesince the bumper now absorbs the impact instead of transferring thatenergy into the chassis. We also made the bumper thicker than stock,meaning it can take more impacts over the entire width of the bumperwithout failing.
